I need a gaming headset for Xbox 360/PS3

Have a pair of Turtle Beach X12's but I really don't like how convoluted and complicated they are to hook up. This is mainly for my nephew. All he wants is to be able to hear in game audio through the headset and to chat with his friends. I have a budget of no more than $100.
 
Could you guys recommend me a pair? I would really appreciate it and thanks!
