this is my problem, i use EAC to rip my cd's in one flac+cue. then i would like to rip them in m4a separated files for my ipod, but i don't want to mount every flac+cue on DaemonTools to let it to be seen by itunes like a normal cd.

on foobar there's a very friendly command that permit to rip the sellected tracks to whatever format you like, regardless of the original file type(they can be ***+cue or separated tracks)

on dbpoweramp there's the possibility to use Quick time encoder, is it possible on foobar2k also?

thank you!

I am in the process of loading my iPod with Mp4 music transcoded from my FLAC rips.

look on www.dpoweramp.com for the Sveta product. Seems to be working well with my 5g ipod (it did need an update for the firmware, so its 5.5G now?)

Sveta will convert FLAC - ALAC on the fly, and you don't need to keep 2 directories. Well 3 in my case, I have too many MP3s that I cant get the CDs again for ripping. Starting afresh, I would just have FLAC files and use this software to transcode to ALAC or MP3 for portable use.

This product had some issues when the 5G iPod came out, and I am still not sure about video files. I don't use video, so <shrug>

You need iTunesEncode. It allows Foobar to use the iTunes mpeg-4 encoder. Link

As an alternative Nero has a free mpeg-4 encoder available on their website. Nero Digital Audio.

your answer sounds good. just downloaded. and i'll try when i'll go back home!

many thanks!
