you need to rename the folders.jpg as the same name of the sound files. for example,

there are a song, black and white.flac, you can rename the folders.jpg to black and white.jpg.

in the future, the firmware will support the folders.jpg or cover.jpg too.

Sorry but naming the scan with the same name of the FLAC files seems don't work .

In some files that I alredy have the cover image is embedded in files and in this case all work fine .

Could u suggest me a way to embed my personal scan on my other FLAC and APE files ?

Than you in advance for your patience !

we will improve the cover display in the future, it will work as foorbar2000, it means it can support not matter the cover is named as the song files, or cover or front . or embedded in the sound tracks.

I have solved the problem : for mono files Flac ( APE ) is really enough to call the scan of the cover  with the same name of the file , reducing , in my case , the pixel dimension to 400 x 400 .

In case of multiple Flac ( APE )  files I have embed the cover ( 400 x 400 ) using Tag & rename software . It takes a little time but works gorgeously !!!

Thanh you for your time . I hope that this explanation could be useful for other Fiio X3 player owner .

I just got an X3 and I wanted to bump this thread to ask if it will recognize album artwork embedded in the file.  For example, I rip to FLAC with EAC and then embed 600x600 .jpg artwork with MP3Tag.  Will the X3 recognize this album art?

Problem solved. You need to include the image/cover by a mp3 tagging tool like mp3tag. Put the image in the same directory. Open the tool at this directory. The music files in this dir are displayed. Mark them all because the image has to be added to every file in order to show up. In the bottom left corner there is a field for the cover. Right-click on it, in the menu choose cover hinzufügen (add). Select the proper image and save all the files with save tag (this takes a bit of time). The file size doeses'nt seem to matter.
It supports jpg and png.
