hi all,

I recently bought CREATIVE INSPIRE 6600 6.1 speakers. My motherboard is

A7n8x delux rev 2.0 (it supports 5.1 channel sound with soundstorm

technology).

I am using latest nforcedrivers_637 for windows 2003. Configured and

tested speaker wizard that 5 speakers + subwoofer are just working

fine. For testing I used nswap utility

Problem is I am having PCTV streo tv tuner card and not able to play 2

channel volume to all the speakers, it only comes from from front left

and front right speakers.

Same issue is with MP3 music also I am using musicmatch 10 for playing

audio...

I am using powerdvd 6 for playing 5.1 channel dvd's and they are

working fine and output is coming from all 5 speakers + subwoofer. I

have configured powerdvd to use CLMEI2 to configure speaker setup to

6.1 channel and it just works fine...even 2 channel dvd's or MP3 are

palying cool with this software...

Though powerdvd is not the configurable for mp3 thus not very

convinient...

question is simple is there a sowtware which converts 2 channel audio

to 6/7 channel audio....
or
is there any mp3 player which has the capability of converting 2

channel audio to multichannel audio...

Is there a way I can use all speakers while playing TV on my box?

There ia a hardware decoder creative ddts100 is available, but i don't

want to invest in same...

Kindly let me know how you guys are handling this...

Your problem is that you'd need some kind of upmixing software. This, however, has nothing to do with hi-fi any more since obviously it's not defined anywhere how to distribute 2ch content across 5.1ch. Doesn't the Soundstorm software offer something?

You could always utilise the Foobar stereo to 4 channel.
The other one I use is via my Marantz receiver which outputs to prologic 2 and that is sufficient at the moment.

I will search and update post if I come across new information.
Google for now is your best friend.

EDIT: OK update, do a search for CMSS, it is a creative software meant to work with creative hardware, I realise that i might mean investing in a creative soundcard, but from my last trip I remember them not being oo expensive in India. That is a good option, haven't discovered much else. will return if more stuff found.
