How 'green' is the new MacBook?

I personally think the worst part is that buying advertisements does nothing to help the environment. Sooooooo many companies look at the need to go green as a need to convince the public that they are green, rather than a need to actually reduce their negative footprint.

Time and time again, if a company is attacked for being environmentally irresponsible because of x and y, instead of fixing x and y, they just launch a massive add campaign. The gas company BP is a great example. They had huge QC issues, that resulted in oil spills, and an explosion at a refinery, among other things, and instead of putting money into fixing those problems, they redid their entire corporate image, which is why you see BP with the green lotus like logo. The amount of money they spent on all of that could have made a real impact if they gave it to research, or just fixed their problems. Not only that, but they are selling the idea that if you buy gas from us, you are saving the environment, and in the end, buying gas can never ever save the environment.

Anyhoo, I just hope that apple is actually spending money on something real, and not just telling us they are green...

Who the heck cares who "green" a computer is. They are just doing it to appease the "feel good" folk who are stupid enough to think that one laptop can really have a huge effect on the environment over another.
