I just received my Shure universal foamies today (non i2c model) and I have no idea how to put it on. The hole is really tight so i have to squeeze it really hard to shove it in. However when I do that, the foamie won't go back to its original size. Can anybody give me some pointers on this before i waste anymore foamies

all you gotta do is squeeze the foamie and when its contracted, put it into your ears. the foamies will slow expand again inside your ear and will give you the best seal. they should go back to their original shape... its just like a sponge... the only reason why a sponge wouldn't be squeezable is if its harden... but that takes a long time....

foamies are by far the best plugs for IEM's in my experience.

Well ive used the foamie that came with the im716 and it was fantastic but it broke so that's why i ordered new ones. Whenever I squeeze the new ones, they take like 5-10 min to get back to their original position. could they be defective?

Foamies are great! I bought a giant bag of them years ago and still haven't used even half of them. The best part is when they get all nasty, it's hard to feel bad about throwing them out because they're so cheap. I highly recommend the foamies for all IEM applications due to the wonderful seal they create.
