How can I tell if my V-Moda M-100s are fake?

So I got a pair of M-100s for a pretty cheap price, but now I'm worried they're fake. When I emailed V-Moda they said it wasn't an authorised reseller and the box had its serial number removed and replaced with another one, so they said it could be fake. Bought from www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au. Anyway, the box looks super legit (it even has the hidden box easter egg and the ribbon etc) but I'm a bit worried. They sound pretty spot on although more muffled than I expected these headphones to sound. The build quality is superb.
 
Is there anyway I can find out if they're fake or not? Some kind of headphone sound test/frequency test? Fairly new to all of this haha.
