I have just listened to that discman using my Grado SR60, and find its sound impressive. The sound is accurate, bass is satisfying, but I find myself a little annoying about the high frequency. how about your experience? how about it compared with IRiver ones, such as SlimX? as I need to make a choice between it and an IRiver one.

i have ct780,but i don't think it sound beauty
And irive's protable cd player is not a good choice to the cd\mp3 disk player, i like ct800 more than irive' cd\mp3 player

would you mind explain a little about your preference of a panasonic one over a iriver one? just now i have searched over the internet for the ct-800's reviews, and seems its sound quality is not that impressive...

but i don't think that a product made in japan necessarily means it is better than the one made in china. you know, many IBM thinkpad series (except X series) are produced in china too

thank tina. my status now can be described by one word: lost, or totally lost.....sigh... i wonder whether my sr60 would produce the "hisssss" sound as those headphones with a slimx one. The shopping place is always too lould to detect such a misfortune

i honestly don't think the hissss is that bad. i guess it's just the way the slim-x has been adjusted to upper it's high frequencies. a lot of people actually like it that way. it's not a noise hisss. it's more on the frequency conversion. it's barely audible unless you have the er4p as your portable ear gear. even then, it can only be percieved at very quiet passages of your music (ie classical) and if you'll really try to concentrate on it. even if you'll ask some slim-x owners who have expensive home headphone setups, they can clarify this better than me. if you'll do a search of the slim-x here, you'll find a lot of hits with favorable raves from prominent members.

from my ears, the slim-x sounds way better than the crappy new panasonic cdmp3 players.

happy hunting.

well, I may have made up my decision. The only thing left is to go a shop and pick up a slimx one for verification. Thank tina again
