my friend wants some headphones that one can wear for a while. i suggested the eggo d66s, cause they own, but i'd just like a second opinion. also, they have to contain sound really well. the eggos are ****ty for that...

Sennheiser HD600, Beyer DT770, Audio-Technica A100Ti and W2002 are all very comfortable for extended listening periods. The latter two won't work if you're warm at all, but I live in air-conditioned rooms most of the time, so it's not a problem until "after hours" at work, when they shut it off for the night (cheap bastards!).
Since you added the criteria of leakage to the list, I would knock the Senns right off the bat. The Sony CD3000 doesn't leak sound until you get deafeningly loud, so they would work very well. I would say that if you have a source with enough power to turn them up some, the Beyer 770 Pros would do the job for you. They tend toward being bright, so keep that in mind. I would consider the Beyer 250-80 also since they are a lot cheaper than the Sonys and a little less than the 770s and easier to drive ampless.
DOH, violated my own rule. What type(s) of music does your "freind" like to listen to? What is your "friend's" budget? Will your "friend" use an amp for these cans?
Hi,
I would pick Sony MDR-CD3000 for your choice. The CD3K offers good isolation. Based on my experience, AT-A1000, and A100ti are very comfortable as well, although the fake leather earpads heat up after one hours of use.
Redshifter,
I believe that CD3K has superior isolation to the CD1.7K. The difference is slight.
MDR-CD3000s are the most comfortable headphones I've ever had the pleasure of wearing.. They provide minimal isolation, but allow very little leakage... Plus, they sound good, to boot..
