I just bought each of these and I was wondering if the GTXP would output enough power so I could use the Grados. I currently have a Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 in one of my other rigs, I love it, but when I try to use some headphones on it it sounds too quiet. Will I have this problem with the GTXP?

I know I should probably get an amp for the cans. I'm pretty new to audio so bear with me. I'm only 19 so my budget is fairly limited. If I do need to get an amp I'll be looking for something maybe a month from now and ~$100 or so. Thanks for helping out a newb.

grados are very low impedance so they're perfect for this kinda thing. you should be OK (though the experts say it'd sound *better* with an amp).

If my GTXP drives my hd580's, yours should be able to handle your sr80s. The GTXP has a cheap built-in headphone amp on the front of the breakout box.

How well it does as an amp is another question.
