Now first off I would like to apologize if I am posting in the wrong section of the forum but I am admittedly a complete novice here.

I was gifted a set of QuietComfort® 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling earphones some two or three years ago. I have really enjoyed them and the sound cancelling means I can enjoy my music or audio books even with heavy road noise even though I have a hearing impairment.

My issue is that one of the ear buds has popped open. I believe that the silicone glue/sealant has perished (it has turned yellow and has no more tackiness to it). I would love to just glue it back together to avoid any repair costs. My issue is at the moment I just have plain super glue. My question comes down to two points:

A: Will the super glue damage the plastic or be unsuitable for the job?
and
B: Does anyone know the same or similar silicone based sealant/glue used by the manufacturer?

Thank you for any help you can give me.

I'd go with super glue but keep these in mind

1) Don't forget to remove all of the bad sealant. Anything left behind when you glue will be a weak point.
2) Super glue often works by dissolving the plastic to a degree, which will then harden again when the glue dries. Needless to say, don't get glue where you don't want it.
3) I wouldn't worry about matching the adhesive to the manufacturer. Super glue will be fine
4) Don't buy any glue that expands! Gorilla glue tends to expand 3x but their clear white glue doesn't. Check the box
