I picked up a crosley 5 in 1 the other day at a yard sale, i know there not good quality, But it was super cheap and i just wanted a cheap way into the vinyl collecting world. So far my only complaint is the lack of a audio output. Ive seen some people try to solder in a new output, One person soldered a rca jack into the volume control, while another person spliced a headphone jack into the speaker wire. Im sure i can do this... but my i have some concerns, will these methods cut out the speakers? I saw one person suggested to use a special audio jack that allows it to make connection when nothing is plugged in while cutting the connection when a pair of headphones is present. Can anyone tell me what that headphone jack is called? and will these methods even work?
