Help on picking the right headphones

I would like help on picking some nice headphones for movies, games, music, etc... Usually i would just get a pair of 'gaming' headphones that would break after about a year or so of use. So after reading several different times that the sound and quality of 'gaming' headphones are mediocre, i am here looking for some ideas. I'v read that a pair of good headphone and a mod mic is the more viable way to go, but with most mod mic's there isn't any mute button, i would like to have one of those cause i use skype with friends alot and would like to have control over voice witch ease. Also with hi-fi headphones is there any way to control the bass? My budget is anywhere around $150 - $200, any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know anything about headphone mics, but I do know that The Beyerdynamic Custom One Pros are nice all around headphones, that can be had for around 200 USD on Amazon. They're big, but you can change the color and style of every part of the headphones, with replacement parts Beyerdynamic sells to make it your own. One of their best features is the bass adjuster on the bottom of the headphone! Basically, there's a little switch with quite a few options on if you want very little bass at all, to a huge thumping, head pounding low end. Portable players can play them easily as well, since I think they might only be 16 ohms? They are customizable, and I believe there may even be a gaming microphone you can plug into one side of the earcups... not sure.

I've seen a modded DT model with mic, I think it was a 770 or 990 tho.

It's pretty damn good actually. Looks pretty spartan. As far as i know it's a DT150 with mic, but people can correct me there if im not. The soundstage was big for a closed can, stereo placement was pretty good. Good separation and lovely bass. It needs to clamp well to get the full sound tho.
 
If there;s a custom one pro, or dt770 pro with mic and you want closed, i'd go with one of those tho.
