I need some advice. Firstly, I have a hiby r5 which has been great little player. So, for listening I have the hifiman sundara and Dunu sa6. My first question is will an amp even be necessary in this setup? I have seen looked at the Fiio q1mk11, the ifi audio go blu, and several others. I currently have the fiio btr5…. Not the 2021 version.
So basically I am wondering if I should just stick to what I have or look to update.
Thanks for listening to my rambling Lol

It depends on whether you're happy with your current setup. IEMs such as yours don't need extra power, but external amplification might noticeably improve their sound characteristic or change it in a way that suits you more. I'd consider such purchases for IEMs as experiments that don't have to but might turn out very enjoyable :)
