Hello,

I've decided to get myself some great closed-back headphones, and I got HIFIMAN Audivina ($700 on sale now). I really like them, except they have a spike at about 1.2 kHz.
It can be fixed with an equalizer by lowering it by 4-5 db, but for $700 I don't really want to deal with an equalizer, especially considering I may change my headphones often (use different headphones during the day).

I'm thinking of trying alternatives to HIFIMAN Audivina.
I prefer reference sound with maybe a little bit stronger bass (HIFIMAN Audivina and Beyerdynamic DT990 Premium are perfect for me bass-wise)
Which headphones would you recommend in $800-1000 budget?

In case it's important, you can see my gear in my signature.
Examples of headphones that I love: HIFIMAN HE1000 v2, HIFIMAN Ananda, BeyerDynamic DT990 Premium.

Kind regards,
Pavel

The Noire X is amazing. Most of my other stuff is collecting dust after getting these. I can't recommend them enough. Great build, comfort, and sound.

The Dan Clark Aeon closed is really worth it. I use filter foam instead of the tuning felt pads and don't need to equalize. There's several pads so just personal preference.
Aurorus audio has a closed back I had on the loaner tour and would buy them again. All day comfort and no harshness, never equalized them either. I liked the Audivina when I had them for a month, but wouldn't use them all day. Also wouldn't do a video call without a matching orange clown nose :)

Thank you for the recommendation. Too bad they are not with free returns on Amazon. I'm afraid there's a chance I won't like them and will want to return... would order them if they were with a free return...

Thank you. Ordered Dan Clark Audio AEON 2, used like new, $700, on Amazon. Fingers crossed!
