Headroom desktop balanced amp.

I am interested in getting one of these along with a balanced HD650 perhaps, can anyone tell me what the value or cost I would expect to pay used for this pair? I also am not to familiar with the advantages of it being balanced.

This amp was discontinued in 2008. There is an example on Amazon for $1300.

Yea, I did see that on Amazon, I was just surprised to see so few on eBay, sold and of course anything here sold does not show price. So it's hard to gauge a good deal and such. A possible 10 yr old amp at least is a gamble it seems. And of course I have never had anything balanced
