Hi, I'm new to the forums and the world of audiophiles, however the journey is a long one, I would like to start slow.
In accordance with that I'd be glad if you could suggest me an amplifier and headphones under the 90$ tag (now upto 110$).

I'm going to play music off of my Android and occasionally my computer.

Oh, I really prefer the bassy side of the spectrum, and prefer it loud!

If I'm missing something, will be glad to provide it here.

EDIT: I was thinking about Audio Technica m30x and the Fiio A1. Comments? Will the A1 be able to drive them to high enough volume?

EDIT2: I listen mostly to pop, rap and EDM sometimes .

EDIT3: Take it upto 110$,lower is better tho.

Thank Ya'll. :)

I'm sorry that nobody is replying.....
It's probably due to the budget: it's quite difficult to recommend something and feel happy about recommending it unless you spent more.
Personally, I wouldn't look into an amp for the price range. I'd get the AKG MKII and avoid an amp, but if you want an amp, I'd switch the headphones out for the Samson SR850 or something from Superlux like the HD681, and for an amp, I'd get the FiiO A3 or E6. Headphones around a smaller budget wouldn't really need an amp, but those choices should fit under your price range in the US.

Thanks. :)

I'm graduating from a pair of Sony XB30EX without amplifier, and the reason I'm really looking into an amp is that my android really starts to distort at volumes that leave a lot to be desired.

Not exactly sure upto what can be achieved with just the IEMs + AMP so I asked for a headphone suggestion.

I'm not really looking for top of the line quality, just something that would do better than my current setup. The better, well, the better.

After a few google searches and reading a few reviews I think the SR850s are wonderful VFM, seem to be bassy as well, but not overpowering, which is great!

I use Poweramp, yes, EQing helped further tho, thanks for that! See the thing is, lowering the Preamp does a lot of good but obviously decreases the loudness. Which is good sometimes, but other times you want the music to be really loud and the bass to shake your head off, that's what my current setup misses, the volume, at that level of bass.

The portapros, are they able to contain the bass? Since they're over-ear and what not?
The list of the bassy headphones had nothing in my range, appreciate the link tho, good porn.

I'm new to the music mania and never have owned an amp, the xb30ex are the most I've ever spent on listening gear! So feel free to point out anything stupid. :)

What about the Fiio Q1 and maybe the Beyerdynamic DT235. Its a very underated phone that one and one that I started with along with the AKG K81DJ

Edit.... Well I see the price has gone up. and its the Dt231. Not seeing it on amazon I had bought mine for around $50 and the Q1 is $70

I just mentioned because for some reason Neutron (app i usse) EQ clips very easily unless I lower the pre-gain, but maybe my phone just has more power so it's not a problem getting the volume pretty loud.

Porta Pro's are bassy, mostly what they lack is subbass rumble, yeah probably due to driver size and open-back/on-ear (also no isloation if you plan on using in noisy areas). They are a classic entry headphone though, I just got a pair again and still enjoy them.

Haven't heard them but The JVC MR77x from that list are only 40ish. I have briefly heard the Audio Technica pro77mk2, which seemed pretty decent, amazon warehouse has them used for 65 if you don't mind used. Not on the list but some older v-moda headphones can be found pretty cheaply used, idk about them but they have a rep for being generally bass heavy.
The people on that thread really know their s*** when it comes to bass headphones EQ and amping, if you're really into that you can ask their advice for a budget amp+headphone combo (or searching thread for previous budget advice), might be worth saving a little extra if you can to get something they recommend.

The JVCs seem to have a weird signature with over-bright highs and not so many reviews as well, something just feels off. I like bass but not a heavily modified response overall in trade for that.

Btw, the Samson SR850s + Fiio Q1 seems sweet to me.
People've been comparing them to headphones around 150$!

I think I'll go with the Samson, impressive reviews and looks better than the other one.

What about the Fiio Q1? Looks fresh!

Those seem like pretty common recommendations for good beginners setups, read good stuff mostly too... another advantage of the Q1 over something like the A1 is that with computer or if your phone supports USB OTG audio you can use it as a DAC/AMP which should provide better sound quality than average onboard audio in addition to more volume output.

Not that "good values" or price:performance ratio don't exist, but if I can give you some hard-earned advice- suggest ignoring "sounds like something x-times it's price!" praise as mostly meaningless... I don't think a decent headphone ever existed that hasn't had that said about it lol... even when people are writing about $1000+ headphones

Great! I guess the Q1 is more than I'm looking for atm then!

As I mentioned before, I'm really new to this corner, didn't even know that quality like this exists and one can actually demand so much from audio, it's quite a revelation for me!
My point being that so long as I get quality sound and good thumping at loud-enough volume levels without clipping OR distortion, I'll be more than happy!

Maybe I'll rediscover my whole existing audio with that amp (old IEMs too)!

So, as much as I want to spend more on the headphones, now may not be the best time.
Then, given the reviews on the Samsons, they seem pretty damn good to me.

I'll try to get 10-20$ more into this, any recommendations then?

BTW, thanks for the responses, all of of you! You guys really took me in a much better direction altogether. :)
