Head-fi Pronunciation

From all the pronunciation threads being started, it appears most people are unsure how to say head-fi related terms. Such as those of companies, players, phones, amps, etc. What I want is for people to chime on how they think something is pronounced. I'm pretty sure I've been pronouncing certain names wrong. So let's make a list of names and pronunciations. Who's first?

Panasonic = panas on ick
Grado = gray dough
Sennheiser = senn highs er
AKG = ay kay gee
TDK = tea dee kay
Musical fidelity = musikal fidel it e
Audio Technica = awe de o tek nick ah

hmm... not me! I always thought it was pronouned 'Fy' or 'fye' as used in the start of the word 'final'. I know 'Fi' is meant to be a short form of fidelity which would be pronounced like 'feed al litt ee' but when in short form, Fi seems to always be pronouned as 'fy' like how they call a set of speakers 'hye-fye' instead of 'hye-fee'.

Is Xin pronounced like "zin" or "shin" or are both guesses wrong?

I thought Grado was pronounced "gra dough" because it's Italian.

yeah, I think it is "gra dough" also, cause it was mentioned before. I call xin, "zin", but I'm an american so.

I pronounce Xin the same as with GNU; with the X being a hard G. I've heard it pronounced that way before (when X is the first letter in a word, that is), and I think it captures the spirit of X, if you will. Xin would be "Gks-in". Best way I can think of it. It's a really fast G, hardly heard, followed up with something that almost sounds like z, but not quite. Hence, ks.

i have a friend called Xie, who pronounces it something like she e. So maybe Xin is she n. Chinese is strange and complicated.

You know how you pronounce Jaques in French? Kinda like Shock and Jock mixed together . . .thats how Xin is. How about Mr. . . . wait, what is Xin's last name?

Funny, when reading posts about Xin I always thought of the pronunciation "ecks - in", pronouncing the "X" separate. This doesn't really make sense phonetically, but that's how I've always thought of it

I have always pronounce head-fi HED-EF-EYE
