Ok, I have a pair of hd595's and the ear pad is splitting open a a seam. I got it glued, it will likely hold for a good while, but I need a proper replacement.

sennheiser proper is 30$ - I really don't want to pay for oem parts at this price when better is cheaper for other brands.
Geekria is an replacement brand for 16$
there is a no name for 13$

my main problem is potentially missing something great because i'm not even aware it exists, and I don't want to just buy anything because I don't want a downgrade in quality.

Anyone able to help or point me a better place to ask this if this isn't the right area?

I would assume the HD595 could use the same earpads as the HD518,HD558, HD598, HD599, etc.
Lots of low cost ear pads sold on ebay.

I don't have a problem paying more if I am getting something good for the money, currently I get a few years out of the earpads before they just aren't really cleanable anymore.

Do you happen to know how they compare to stock pads? my 598's at times I honestly forget im wearing them, and they are some of the few headphones I have worn that don't touch my ear at all. my main concern with buying an ebay pad is obviously lower quality but above that noticeably lower quality, like I don't care if the material or the foam inside is technically lower quality, but if i'm able to feel the lower quality or in the case of leather pads it impacts how long I can wear them comfortably I have an issue.

Right now i'm looking at hm5 velour earpads with a 598 adaptor mount, the way I see it if I get an adaptor mount i should be able to use other more generic earpads, and at least from what I read they are some of the best earpads you can get for money. my little brother has some that he forced on his electrostat and yea I can easily see myself getting use to them, I want to know everything I should be looking at or considering. Thankfully the superglue is holding better than I anticipated so I got time to look at everything.

Oh yeah, use a x-acto knife or box cutter to cut out the back fabric of the Monoprice velours, as the hd595 should already have driver covers inside.
