For all of us who live in China, this is a great chance to see and listen to most international and well-known or new local brands. I try to find out how to post some pictures with comments/impressions (or am I not allowed to as newbie?). Definitely worth a visit.

Here is an overview of the exhibitors. It starts at 9 am and ends at 5 pm. Worth being there early, I got my best listenings between 9 and 10

I really wanted to compare the Hifiman HE1000 old and new version. On promotion, the old version was offered 30% off (12,000 RMB). But the new version feels much lighter, the highs are a little rounded off and this is closer to my listening style. But why not add the old version into my collection just for being different?

Second on my wish list was to listen to the new Focal Utopia, and thanks to my early arrival I got a slot and could celebrate it connected to a Questyle combo (cost about 10,000 Euro). Oh man, this was the most musical presentation I have listened to so far. As much as I like the HEK for it's analytical style, the Utopia has it's own magic.

Next I listened to the Mytec Manhattan DAC and loved it! Even the tube amp next to it couldn't impress me more. Then I learned the price. I didn't much care for the little brother of the Mytec Manhattan, Brooklyn, which was suggested to me by the nice distributor of Mytec and many other brands including my "house brand" Violectric.

Since I'm new to this and am doing it on-the-go, I split this into several posts. Here some pics without comment.

I was always interested in Chord, they have their unique design and excellent reviews of SQ. But I may have been spoiled from before so even listening to the Chord Dave didn't do it for me. The Moyo is an eye candy, really small but quite heavy.

Here is an interesting product: a balanced cable connector that can be the basis for any kind of plug. It looks very reliable, so

Fiio has a new mini DAC with good optic/haptic, Cayin has really great build quality and their tube amp sounds well with Sennheiser HD800, I really like Beyerdynamic's T5P (I have the T1P, the difference is not big, but I prefer open), and I really don't like the look of Astell&Kern's AK380! I own the AK240 and it sounds great and has enough angles for me - it will stay

And finally one more item on my wish list: Staxx. The friendly guy there told me that the technology of high voltage with low current was originally used to listen to sounds in the body. I think I have to spend more time to listen to them.

This was my first visit of a headphone show and I loved it. I hope one day Canjam will come to China.
