Don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I have been screwing around with Foobar after reading about how so many people seem to like it.

I had been using WMP until now. I really love the new WMP library view, so I wanted Foobar to display the library the same way.

Now that I've done I'm not really sure how I got the settings to do it. This program confuses the hell out of me. I think this is a function of Columns UI. I have it on, but now I can't remember if the way I did this was possible before I turned it on.

Anyway, if you are able to get to "Tools->Es Playlist" here's what I did:

New Preset setting:
Grouping - %<BAND>%
Title - %album artist%

New Preset setting (to be put below previous):
Grouping - %album%
Title - %album%
Artwork - Cover Front

Once those two are created and are in that order, go to sort format and copy and paste below.

%<album artist>% | %album% %discnumber% %track%

That's it.

Now for those of you not familiar with WMP library, you will have everything by the same album artist grouped together, with each album being separated and named with a picture next to it. That sounds pretty simple, but it wasn't. Albums with various artists were showing up splintered all over the place. The way it is now, they are all as they should be.
