What about the poor old SR-100, 200, and 300? I'd take one of these, with the "HP-1000" drivers over many of the headphones listed.

I jumped straight up the rungs to the SR-225, and I'ma keep them. I love Grado sound...

Want to try RS- or PS- series though...

I'm the same lately. Since I've received the Hornet I have even started bringing the PS-1 to work with me. HF-1 simply isn't getting a look in.

There might be an HF-1 up for sale very soon as every day the urge for an RS-1 for work use gets harder & harder to resist.

How can I revote? Just got my 325i yesterday but I voted SR-80 sometime ago.
Sigh... Still burning-in the cans.

I started with a SR-80 and loved the sound signature so much that I sold them an directly went forward to the RS-1's. While I really loved the sound signature, I only listen to music to maybe 1 or 2 hours a week (sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less) with headphones and so I really couldn't justify having a can in this price range lying around the hole time. So I decided to sell them a year ago.

But for some kinds of music (electric guitars, rock etc.) I really miss the grado-sound so I decided to buy a grado again. For european prices I found a good deal on the SR-225 in the for sale forum and decided to jump on it. From the posts I read the SR-225 is often called the "small" RS-1. I hope it will fulfill my needs and will be a good and reasonoble compromise.

Well, you can't move up the Grado chain, since the PS1 is not necessarily better (just different) and the HP1000, as much as they are now FOTM, might lack the RS1 "fun-factor" (as far as I understood from some people who compared them directly).

C = century

the only problem is that there's few/none available
they would spread on head-fi as a virus

I'm inquiring quite any head-fier who's got both of them to know bit more about , and they seem ( both refined but ) quite very different .

I've undrestood basically this
ps=ouchbassroar
where
rs=sweetmellowroar
hp=superneutruroar ( yes they still roar )
