Mars would be amazing. It actually kind of resembles parts of northern Arizona and parts of the Sahara desert but without the vegetation/trees. The horizons that goes on forever and kind of hypnotizes you.

If humans inhabited Mars, what would happen is that eventually human evolution would go in a different direction and eventually the Mars humans will look very different from the earth humans over the course of thousands of years in the future.

There will be a lot of underground cities in Mars and there will be multiple societies literally underground due to the unsafe atmosphere. (yes an underground subway system will be included)

Domed cities on the surface will also exist too but it will mostly be for the hierarchy or privileged of society.

Of course, this will happen in the far far future in future centuries.

500 years or later in the future, You already have an established society. Within the society, most likely there will be groups of Mars people who will live on more desirable locations

if you’re born on Mars and you’re used to it and your previous generation of families lived on Mars for hundreds of years, most likely you’re used to the planet. There could be wealthy families with really nice houses.

It would be a prison colony if anything but seriously beside scientific outposts like in antarctica nobody wants to live in there wont be much action. Tourism doubt all that many is willing to shorten their lives by radiation beside the long travel to and from and it will be expensive like nothing else.

^Excellent points but after 500 years or even a 1000 years or so, Mars will get nicer.

A somewhat minor example is Las Vegas. It’s out in the desert in the middle of nowhere. Later it got built up and it’s actually pretty nice.
