Hello there. My first thread here was about asking how I could connect my headset to the TV and headsets with longer cables but I found out later that my TV does not have a headphone jack. Tried getting a 3.5mm jack to RCA but it didn't work too. TV does not have settings for audio output.

My main goal is to listen to games via headphones because my PS3 is so loud. Any recommendations as to what headphones I can use? Found out I can use bluetooth or USB headphones. Also if it works with the 360 too that would be a huge bonus. Also, if it's cheap that'll be really nice. Thanks!

Astro Mix-amp will work with Sony & Microsoft gaming consoles.
Sennheiser HD558 headphones.
any add-on mic you like.

Do I need to only plug those in on a port to the console?

You will need to connect two cables between the gaming console and the Astro, one is optical and the other is USB.
Optical carries 6-channels of compressed digital audio (or 2-channels or un-compressed audio, PCM) from the gaming console to the Astro.
The Astro then un-compresses the 6-channels and converts it to headphone surround sound
You will need to enable Dolby in the gaming console's audio settings, Dolby compresses the digital audio, otherwise only 2-channels of (PCM, un-compressed) audio will pass thru optical.
And you need all 6-channel for effective headphone surround sound.

The USB carries your mic audio from the Astro to the gaming console.
