OK, so I was wondering how can I tell or figure out whether a PS3 video game supports surround sound.
I read about this video game, Doom 3, and I saw that it supported 5.1 surround sound.  However according to Wikipedia, this is only for the Xbox 360.

So my question again is.. how can I tell if a PS3 video game supports 5.1 or 7.1 surround game?

Do you know of any titles that support surround sound?

Thanks.

You just read about Doom 3? It's been out since 2004, and 2005 on the Xbox. (That's Xbox, not even the Xbox 360).

The re-release--BFG Edition--has been out for 2 days. Give reviewers some time.

The original Doom 3 had proper 3D sound courtesy of the OpenAL API.

I'm really hoping that they didn't strip it out for BFG Edition in favor of that XAudio2 crap, but knowing the game industry these days (and that BFG Edition borrows quite a bit of id Tech 5 code), they most likely did.

That's concerning the PC version; I would be highly surprised if the PS3 version didn't support surround sound at all. You'd think that it would be a standard feature for PS3 games, like how Microsoft mandated Dolby Digital support since the original Xbox.
