Hi there, i just got a Sound BlasterX G6 for my hd58x today i know to keep all its vss and software off for when im playing fps on ps4
I have some questions you're probably tired of hearing its about connecting the PS4 via Optical
Under Audio Out Put Settings
Primary Output Port - Under Optical there are 3 Check Boxes option for me to choose: Dolby Digital 5.1ch, DTS 5.1ch & AAC. My Question is Do I select all of them? or Which one? If I select the wrong one will it Damage my G6 ? Because it says: Note that if the device does not support the selected format the Speakers might be damage.
and Under Audio Format (Priority) - Bitstream (Dolby), Liner PCM, & Bitstream(DTS) Which Do I select?
and in the SBC there is a option to set Dolby full, normal or Night & Configuration set to 5.1 or stereo?
Thanks

Bitstream (encoded) audio (or DDL (Dolby Digital live) or DTS-Connect) is what is used to be able to send up to 6-channels (5.1) of digital audio thru S/PDIF optical/coaxial.
What ever receives that signal, at the end of the cable (optical/coaxial) would need to support Dolby or DTS to decode the digital audio, into separate PCM signals (into 6 separate channels), like 5.1.
PCM is a normal (un-encoded) audio signal, optical/coaxial cable can only carry 2-channels (2.0) of PCM (un-encoded) audio signal, so Bitstream/encoding is need to pass more then 2-channels (2.0).
Not sure if the G6 supports DTS, but I'm assume it supports Dolby.
Dolby only decodes Dolby and DTS only decodes DTS.
Using the wrong setting will not damage anything.

My friend ironically has this pairing for his ps4.
Sennheiser HD660S plugged into a monolith thx aaa potable amplifier and then plugged into the ds4 controllers aux output for signal. Apparently he loves it and gives him some mobility despite having to deal with the mobile headphone amp lol.
