Hello. First time poster here.

My headphone listening station consists of an Airport Express > DAC > hybrid tube/SS amp > Headphones. I was going to get a surge protector, and then figured I might as well make it a power conditioner as there are some that don't cost too much. The Furman PST-8D looks like a good option for this, fairly inexpensive but well reviewed. However, the PST-6 is even cheaper, a third of the price, and I don't need 8 outlets. But the PST-6 does not have the ability to prevent analog and digital components from interfering with each other... I really have no idea if this matters for my system.

Two questions:

1) Am I really going to notice a difference in sound if I isolate the digital and analog components?

2) Where would the DAC go on the PST-8D? The analog side or the digital side? The Airport Express is obviously digital, the amp is obvious analog... The DAC is which, exactly?

Thanks.

I would think that you would plug it into the digital side, but then again I could be wrong. I didn't hear that much of a difference when I put my components on the Furman, but I can attest that the quality is there and many others swear by it. You wouldn't be going wrong with it.
