and you do have either 50%/50% or 70%/30% anti-freeze in the radiator, right?

i always turned on my lights for 5 seconds before starting the car (this was in the old days - to get the juice flowing in the battery).

at work - do your parking meters have an AC outlet on them (like Rapid City, S.D.)? that's where you'd plug in your engine block heater.

That's assuming the battery is stone dead, which usually isn't the case.
