Hi all,

This is a response (err... continuation?) of my 'Free RAM!' thread.

I have an old PC Soundcard... although i'm sure someone somewhere can make use of it.

BRAND = Creative Labs
MODEL# = CT4730
SERIAL# = MACT4780840000882M
SLOT_TYPE = PCI
Main Chip = EV1938
PORTS:
* 1) Line Out [green]
* 2) Line In [blue]
* 3) Mic [red/pink]
* 4) Game/Joystick [15-pin D-SUB female]

EDIT: The one downside of this free device is I don't have any Drivers for it

Looks like grabbing them online should be cake though:

I will take it for my son's PC build if you still have it.
I can paypal you for the shipping.

Thanks,

Unless your son's PC is 20 years old and runs windows XP and has PCI (modern motherboards have PCIE only) ports I don't think you'll have much luck. Also the integrated audio on any modern motherboard is superior to this.

If you need drivers for it or any older hardware:
https://www.station-drivers.com/
They even have unofficial updates for abandonware products to use them with later releases of Windows. Also download of Realtek stuff is about 100 times faster than their site, which must be located in a mushroom cave, on the end of a rusty wire for webhosting :)

No problem. His PC is a build in progress and had PCI and Win7 Pro as it is still one of the best OS for Win. The rest is problematic, slow and takes up more memory and ram to operate.
He also runs Linux for some music mixing apps.
No biggie,
Thanks
