I currently came across new hot plug-ins, which I highly recommend to every users: the columns_ui and its formatting strings.

As you can see, the columns just look cool & neat and help to organize and view your albums far better than the default user interface.

If you usually visit Hydrogen Audio forums you already know that these features have been designed by several members, namely musicmusic (columns_ui), plisk & nexus, etc (formatting strings) and tboehrer (play_counter).

Here're some screenshots:

Plisk:

Azrael:

I personally use Plisk's "dark" interface with the play_counter and the rating is calculated from the play_counter.

Play_counter (Components/database/Database settings/ database should be enabled)

Thanks for the info, BTW.

I checked it and the default font of Plisk's playlist font is Lucida Sans Unicode.

I have sorted my music by artist using Columns UI (one artist per playlist), but how do I play one album only?

Well, I don't fully understand your question, however you can simply click on the "album" header and sort the songs according to the album track list. BTW the columns header is activated via Display/Columns UI/Playlist/Tick "Show columns header".

I organized my music, like in the screenshots, to contain multiple albums under one playlist (and one artist per playlist). So when I click a playlist tab, I get all the albums I have from the same artist. But it doesn't seem I can play one album then stop; foobar will play the next song in the list, after the album has ended, from the next album. Is there a way to play one album only?

Hey permonic. How do you get the album name to only show up once and then list the other info? Mind sharing your string with us?

Edit: Oops, figured it out.

Yeah, mods please, move this thread to the proper forum. I started the thread before the computer source forum was established.

Mr. Radar, Thank you for the excellent graphic tutorial! I still am getting the album displaying for every song rather than just once per album. Kind of like what Ooheadsoo was asking. How do you fix that?

Every column priorities could be set up in Display/Columns UI/Columns. "Album Info" column has default setting which hides this column in "Default" playlist. Check which of your playlists are filtered (Playlist filters: Hide on Playlist).

I know what you are saying and I found that setting, but that either hides everything or displays everything. I want the artist and album only to appear in the first rows rather than on on every row. Right now, my foobar does not look like your screenshot.

edit: OK, I got it now. ALBUM INFO, just like you said
