Last night I did some A/B testing between iTunes and Foobar on my PC and the Foobar was far cleaner and better sounding.

So I have this dilemma. I have been listening on my PC on iTunes to the library that is housed on my Powermac G5 over my LAN.

My guess is that Foobar cannot play a shared library over a LAN, but I hope I'm wrong. Anybody got any ideas?

Just share the directory to read only and access it from your other computers/devices. If you have more than one computer or music playing device, I'd recommend a NAS so it's seperate to any computer, no host needed to be left on.

hang on you want a centralised database for your PC? I've been looking into that also. I know the NAS's have itunes server so any itunes client will acces your music lib, I guess we want something like that but not itunes. I know my other nas has twonky service that'll build up music database but unsure how you access that from winamp, foobar, media monkey etc. I have slimserver so you can access within web browser but not PC audio applications. Also has UPNP media server. Surely winamp or foorbar can connect to those services?
