I just ripped my Michael Jackson Ultimate Collection in .flac, but when I open it with foobar, it skips the first second of the song! I then try it in VLC player and it works fine. Foobar also plays all my other songs just fine. I then click properties in foobar, and I see it has a pregap of 00:01:48, which would account for the skip. My question is, how do it get that second back on to the beginning of the song in foobar? Thanks for your time!

Are you letting it be driven by a cuesheet? What did you use to rip it?

Edit: The only way I can replicate it is by letting a CD be driven by a cuesheet. (My copy of Rush's Hemispheres is one big FLAC file.) Each of these files has a 'pregap', but that's proper. Did you rip the CD as one file, or as multiple files? If you did it as multiple files, try removing them in Foobar, going to the folder, renaming the cue file (to .cue.old or something), and readd the folder/files.

If that doesn't work, and you DO have multiple files, you can re-rip them, but find an option about playing gaps.

If it's a single file(s), just rerip it as one per track.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm not using a cuesheet, nor can I find one, and it was ripped as multiple files. Unfortunately, I cannot rerip them because I did so at home over the long weekend, and I'm now back in college. I was wondering if there was an option in Foobar to fix the problem because it plays fine with any other player, I just prefer foobar. Or could I do anything to the multiple files themselves? I tried reconverting them to .flac, and the beginning would be totally cut off, even in VLC.

Edit: When I join the tracks together as a single flac with shntool, they play fine in foobar.

You can try to find a copy of the album online that has a cuesheet, and just download the .cue. That might work. PM me if you need help doing this.
