While not in foobar, an easy way to control this for all audio, regardless of player is -

In Windows 7,8 (and others)

1.  Right Click on your Volume icon in the Taskbar (or click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound)
2.  Choose Playback Devices
3.  Double Click the Device (Speakers?) you wish to control the balance of
4.  Select the Levels Tab
5.  Click on Balance
6.  While playing music, adjust DOWNWARD the Slider of the speaker (Left or Right) that is loudest until the two are equally loud
7.  Click OK and Click OK

Is this the best way to be able to pump more juice in the L/R channel for people with hearing problems?
I'm having some problems with my right hearing. I have to pass an audiogram to see what's exactly wrong with my hearing. I hope it isn't that bad and reversible.

Man I'm having the same problem. I can hear so much more detail in my left ear but my right ear is just... weird. Thinking about going to a specialist and figuring out what's up. Really frustrating

If you're looking a channel balance utility for Windows Vista/7/8.x/10 system then you could install EqualizerAPO and prepare EQ filter (with L/R balance fix) which best suites for your hearing skills. EqualizerAPO works globally but it does not support kernel mode operations (ASIO, WASAPI Exclusive, WDM/KS).

This is a relatively old thread but has plenty of useful information that I need, so I shall reply here instead of starting a new thread.

I have a slight loss of hearing on one side so everything I hear is slightly off center and it ikrs me to no end. There are many solutions posted here on how to control the volume of L/R audio. I would like to know if all these solutions posted here will degrade the sound quality if I were to change the volume of one side because technically I am using a software to "modify" my audio. What should I be looking out for in order to ensure that i preserve the original quality of my music while changing the L/R volume.

Currently, I am just using the default "Realtek Audio HD driver" to adjust the L/R volume. I am not sure if it is placebo, but I am sure that I can hear a drop in "quality" of sound if i were to adjust the L/R volume.
