How did it not save them anywhere? Is there any way I could recover them? I spent years building these playlists, and the ones I saved two years ago aren't very useful, considering some of the file paths have been moved and I'd have to individually resituate them.

If Foobar has deleted your playlists during an update, you may be able to recover them by following these steps:

  1. Check the Recycle Bin: After the update, check your computer's Recycle Bin (or Trash on macOS) to see if the deleted playlists are present there. If they are, you can restore them to their original location.
  2. Backup Folder: Foobar2000 usually keeps a backup folder where it stores previous configurations. Look for a folder named "Foobar2000" or "Foobar2000_Backup" on your computer. Inside that folder, you may find backup files or configurations of your playlists. Copy these files to the appropriate location in Foobar2000 to restore your playlists.
  3. Previous Installation: If you had Foobar2000 installed in a different location or on a different drive before the update, there's a possibility that the old playlists are still intact in that location. Try checking the previous installation folder and copy the playlists from there to the new Foobar2000 installation folder.
  4. Third-Party Recovery Tools: If the above steps don't work, you can try using third-party file recovery tools https://www.pandorarecovery.com/best-recovery-apps.html . These tools scan your computer for deleted files and may be able to recover your deleted playlists. Examples of such tools include Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, or MiniTool Power Data Recovery.
