Hi everyone.

I need your help in buying a flash MP3 player for a friend. That I have to come here for help is probably unprecedented in recent times

but I'm out of ideas. The player has to be discreet sizewise, and also needs to be clipped around the waist at the back. i.e. the player can't be visible on the front or side of the person. The player will be used probably exclusively with a shortened / re-terminated E2c which ends in a neutrik 3.5mm jack. There must be no obstructions, electrical or physical for this jack.

It needs to have either a case-clip or an integrated clip which attaches VERY securely to anything from a thin waistband to a thick-belted pair of jeans. Moreover, the transport and volume controls must be operable blind (since it'll be around the back) with long nails. Sound quality: not picky as long as it's 'nominal'. Capacity: The bigger the better. Additional non-player features: Would be nice but not strictly necessary. Radio might be good.

The most important thing is probably the security of attachment. Due to the circumstances of use the only predictable point of anchor for the player would be the waist, but the thickness of the attachment point will vary. iSkin-type clips haven't worked, it needs to be either a lever-close or heavily spring loaded type.

Recommendations please.

The Creative Zen Nano Plus is quite small and can be easily hidden away.

Bangra, I'm looking at the tiny, b&W 512m Iriver IFP-395T flash player I have. It's small. It uses an aluminium 'toggle' stud for basic play (which is easily operable 'blind'). The unit itself has a metalicised key loop that is metal-reinforced and seems pretty strong. The unit is high impact plastic. It comes with a textured water resistant heavy vinyl case that has a sturdy vinyl belt loop for a small width belt. It is easily flashed to usm. It should be very inexspensive by now. I have never found anything to complain about it other than that it is usb 1 (which is not problematic for small volume players).

Hi,

I have been using the YP-MT6 for a few months now.
It's main advantages:

1) Very good sound quality.
2) Easy to operate.
3) Excellent value for money.
4) It comes with a plastic "protector" and string (Just put it in your pocket or around neck).
5) Uses Regular AA batteries and has a 42 Hour operation on one AA battery.
6) Supports OGG format.
7) Managed like a regular "Mass-storgae-Device": Drag and drop files into it.

Hope that helps,

E. Shirron
