Hi All,

** First post warning**!

I have an iPod Touch 4G running IOS6.
What is the best app for me to play FLAC files and where can I get it?
Is it VLC player that I have seen mentioned in other threads?

The latest and most popular FLAC players on the App store require IOS7 or higher, which I can't do!
So are there any other FLAC players that others would recommend that are backwards compatible with IOS6?

I hope to use my Ipod Touch with a Pure i20 dock and a Little Dot MkI DAC and Little dot MkIII tube amp.

Thanks for any advice Mark..

You can try VLC, but for my 4g touch I could hear distortion in the background running FLAC. You can also try Accudio app but that's not free. Even then. It used to crash for me after screen wake up. I kind of gave up on the 4g touch playing FLAC, other apps would play fine but gave me problems with file organizing.

In my honest opinion it's worth getting a converter and converting to ALAC for a stress free experience. Imo the 4g touch is not stable with these apps due to lower specs.

Have a read here though, some people have better luck.

Disclaimer: I don't have any apple products.

"mediamonkey" plays [flac] files on my PC, it has no problem. They have released an app for android.

For iOS and apple:

This may help or not, again i an ignorant of apple stuff. Good luck.
