Hi everyone, I know it's a very old and unsupported player, but I decided to post it here because maybe someone has already experienced this problem and managed to find a solution. I have a FIIO X7mkII and I have always used TIDAL normally, in version 2.29.1. For a silly minute I decided to do a factory reset on the player, I installed the TIDAL APK and unfortunately I can't open TIDAL. As you can see in the video, when I click on login, a screen appears verifying the device, and then I am directed to a screen where after some time I have to prove that I am not a robot by solving a captcha. Unfortunately here I get into a loop, when solving the captcha it always returns to the same screen asking me to prove that I'm not a robot. I also tried listening for the numbers and entering them instead of dragging the puzzle piece, but when I enter the numbers it stays on the same screen and I am not prompted to enter login details. I tried installing older versions and it generates the same problem. One thing I noticed is that when trying to log in to the tida website through the standard X7 browser, it generates a certificate error. If I try to log in using Google Chrome, I can log in, despite it being slow. The impression I have is that when trying to run the Tidal app, the default browser opens in the background, which is not compatible and thus generates this endless problem. So if anyone has had this problem and found a solution other than buying another updated DAP lol, I would love to hear it, as I wasn't looking to buy another one for now, my DAP is very new.

Any help is welcome, thank you in advance.

Have you tried clearing storage and cache on Tidal? If so, do you get a notification code to link the device? Have you tried a slightly newer Tidal apk like 2.31.0?

Sorry, no experience with the FiiO. Just suggesting some things I would try personally.

Hello friend, I'm going to install and test this version you suggested. About clearing the cache, Tidal didn't give me this option before I could log in, and that's where the problem lies, from the video I left in the link, in the step that would be to log in, it keeps doing infinite checks.

I installed the latest version of Tidal compatible with Android 5.1.1 and according to the video, I still have the same problem. I have the impression that it is the default browser that is presenting a certificate error that is preventing me from logging in / loading Tidal. If there was a way to customize the FIIO Firmware with a more recent browser as the default browser, I believe that would solve it. I have already tried disabling the default browser and leaving Google Chrome enabled but it did not work, because Fiio does not recognize it as the default browser that way.

Hmm... try installing a compatible version of HiBy Music. Current version allows Tidal login, just no local downloads.

Excellent, I had already installed this Hiby music on the DAP, to listen to music offline. I tried the way you said, in the cloud option and it worked as follows, there were two options to log in, the first the device was verified exactly the same way I tried running the Tidal app, that is, it did not work. But in the second option, I was directed to a page, where I included a username and password, soon after a 5-letter code was generated that would be the authorization/linking code of the device to my account, I just had to access the website https://offer.tidal.com/device/link , log in to my account and enter the code (on TVs it usually works this way). When I returned to Fiio, I was already logged in to Tidal within Hiby, as per the added video, it worked super well. Although the offline content does not work, it has already helped me a lot. Thank you very much for your help once again.

I will still try to find a way to update the (default) browser so that it is compatible with Tidal certificates again. So if James has a solution for this, it will be of great help. Thanks friend for alerting 👍
