I don't know if I'm having a "placebo" effect, but I feel like the music sounds more clear, less veiled (compared to the toggle on) when I toggled off the "Safe Mode" in Fiio Control Panel (Buffer Settings > Safe Mode).

Sennheiser HD 600, Tidal hi-fi source. All windows enhancements turned off and tidal is in "exclusive control" mode. Middle or high gain.

Also somewhat random, but I wonder if anyone could test album "Death Magic" by HEALTH and tell me if it's poorly mastered. Not sure if it's my sensitive ears or if the album is just poorly recorded. Same artist, same source (Tidal) and all their other albums sound fine, but this one grinds my ears with grain sound. Especially the second song, Stonefist.

I feel like the exclusive mode on Tidal makes the sound harsher and brings up the highs? There is obvious difference between exclusive on and off, but I can't figure out what it is.
