Apologies for the repost, but I got enough new information that it felt necessary.
I bought a Fiio E10k for use with my ATH-M40X, not because they need it, but because the audio port to my computer is broken. However, the sound quality i'm getting out of it seems really low in general, but for some reason the sound completely wigs out when specifically listening to twitch streams. As in, when watching video game streams, certain sound effects are so distorted they give off a sort of sizzling (like really chunky white noise) sound, and in music streams, the pitch sometimes fluctuates. As in, certain sounds/ synths' pitch will move slightly like you were messing with the pitch knob on an electric piano. I've listened to non-streamed versions of the songs and can verify that's not the song's doing (because for some reason youtube doesn't cause the same issues).
I have made sure I am using the latest drivers. It seems to be worse at night, and since I live in a dorm, interference would make sense. On suggestion from another user, I added some ferrite cores to the cables, but it hasn't caused any noticeable difference.
The Fiio came with a program that says:
Audio format: 16 bit, 44100 Hz
Stream Status: 16 bit, 44100 Hz (can't change this)
ASIO driver status: Nonactive, Stop ("stop" being text, not an option)
ASIO buffer size:
Auto Adjustment (yes) : 6144
Bits per sample: 24 bits
Any Idea what might be causing this?
