Hey everyone, - so long story short, I´v just spent maybe the last two hours going back and forth between my dragonfly red and fiio BTR5 ( single ended). Listening on a pair of DT1990´s if I can hear a difference.
For some reason the Dragonfly red seems to have better dynamics, vocals are also moved abit more forward. Best way to describe it is that the dragonfly red has a bit more space between instruments, nots and strings.
The BTR5 is sharper in the high frequencies, even many a bit more sibilance, - or just less smooth treble compared.
Has anyone made the same observations?
PS... Will still have to compare the Fiio Hipdac with the dragonfly on my DT1990´s but have not yet had the time...
