Fidue Virgo A85 first impressions:
So Amazon and Penon Audio have been retailing the A85 since it came out in 2017 for $399. Fidue released it about a year after their $899.00 Sirius A91 TOTL Flagship 1DD X 4BA Hybrid. Where here the Virgue is gifted with a single DD and 2 custom BAs. And………Penon is reducing the price to keep up with the times at only $149.90. To tell you the truth I read a couple reviews and when I read mid-forward I was on the look-out. But in reality, even with the Penon Vocal Cable in 4.4mm I was met with a balanced tone, promoting the midrange and placing the bass and treble in the backseat, but in a lovable balanced way. There was nothing wrong with how the moderate middle to larger stage took place, as well as brisk pace in occurrence. The all aluminum build was nice as all the extras included.

6 sets of ear-tips (with an addition pair of mediums on the IEM)
Also 1 pair of Comply T500 foam Tips
A cleaning tool
A hardshell case
6.3mm to 3.5mm adapter
An airplane adapter
Warranty card
Also a pendant maybe, I’m not sure, maybe a guitar pick?

The best part about this playback is the high-end custom BAs actually sound like more than two a side. There is an increase in detail perception due to a reserved stance in bass as well as the careful take on the treble. The graph here seems to showcase just how the tone could be described, though take note that it is the details inside those mids that make the playback so special. Is it worth the current price of $149.90? I think it is very competitive even though not coming out in 2024. The second great thing besides the sound is the special build shape and ergonomics, finding the A85 amazingly small yet robust in design. Fit is nice too with the included cable adding ear-hooks to keep it in place. Where the Vocal cable accessed 4.4mm and has an even more midrange cable stance, really either cable was great, though bass heads need not apply, this IEM is really more the midrange lovers among us!

The shape reminds me of the Kinera Hodur, which was one of the most comfortable and smallest iems I've tried.
