Thank you, and it's great to learn DMA exists (somehow I had missed that). The lineup looks really interesting. The Dark Matter Custom DMA4 isn't identical, but has some similar sonic characteristics to that one that wasn't released.

I’m genuinely curious to learn more about dma designs, is it based on unreleased Ety projects and research ?

I really wanted the Evo as my next Etymotic; already have both 4s and both 2s. But being discontinued is a bummer.
I know I can still get it, but I don’t like investing in something its already not made anymore. Its a reassurance thing.
Have you heard anything Dave, about a possible project like that in the future? extraofficially of course, as I know you are not there anymore.
No, I haven't heard anything. I'd be sort of surprised if anything new came out from there.

I would say that these are more my designs and what I've always wanted to do. Both Etymotic and Westone (I was technical director for both brands) had their own sort of established ethos. DMAL is what I want to do.
That said, I always still use accuracy (basically the Etymotic curve) and deviate as I see fit. For folks that like the EVO, I think most will view a number of the designs as a fundamental improvement.
As far as being based on the research, my brain is full of all of the things that I've learned over the years, both at Ety and outside of Ety. It's hard to remove that experience.

Thanks for your input @AnyDave. I expect some day be able to get one of those beautiful Dark Matter designs, and surely one of yours. But have to wait since they are not precisely cheap.
In the meantime, any recomendation for an still un production iem that may be similar or even better than the Evo, and in the same line of tuning philosophy? Damn, I thin I may be asking too much..

Any ideas on universal designs with hybrid architecture ( like Pilgrim for instance?)?I would say that these are more my designs and what I've always wanted to do. It's entirely possible that there's something out there, but I don't know of any to recommend.
…represent a transitional phase in artificial intelligence development. They excel at integrating diverse data sources and executing a wide range of tasks, yet still struggle to fully adapt to nuanced human contexts. This limitation highlights the ongoing challenge of embedding deeper contextual awareness, emotional intelligence, and real-time adaptability, paving the way for next-generation systems that blend efficiency with genuine understanding.Hybrid AI systems that are universal in function, but not yet context perfect.

Why was the Evo discontinued? Was it an experiment? Well, I guess every new release is an experiment in a way. I'm just curious. It's entirely possible that there's something out there, but I don't know of any to recommend.

I'm not sure I have a good answer for that. It certainly wasn't considered an experiment during development. Ultimately, it wasn't my decision.
If anyone in NYC has etymotic evo to meet up and try, ping me

The thin stock cable is the best I have tried.Best cable has anybody tried with the Evo ?
I also have the 4.4mm balanced SuperBAX from Linum and other 3rd party silver-plated cables from Asian eBay sellers at various prices.
But still the original cable has been the best option.
I enjoy the 4.4mm balanced SuperBAX for its little bit of extra heft and feeling a little less tangle-prone than the stock cable. But I can't say I have a sonic preference between the two.The thin stock cable is the best I have tried.

I agree to that. If it was not that expensive, I could certainly recommend it. But for the price they are asking I am not so sure.I enjoy the 4.4mm balanced SuperBAX for its little bit of extra heft and feeling a little less tangle-prone than the stock cable.
