Or should I look somewhere else? I'm willing to spend more, but only for something definitely superior. DACs are by far the hardest components to choose, or so it seems. :X

Is that U$100 with shipping included? If you have to pay shipping on it as well, then you do have a few better choices. My favourite would be the Beresford TC-7510, but there are a couple more out there.

$100 plus shipping puts you in the DAC-AH range. Something newer and better known.
