I'm probably one of the only people around here who has an NS1. I haven't compared it to a lot of streamers, but it sounds far better than my laptop, and significantly better than Innous Zenith Mk3, esp when using the optilink output. I got it for that optical connection to my DA2, and it doesn't disappoint.

I appreciate the snarky tone of the review.

I also use NS1 connected by optilink with DA2. despite optilink connection tuning of switches and upgrade of ethernet cable before NS1 worked well for me

I have actually switched from optilink to just regular toslink on the NS1 because I needed dac2x to sound a bit warmer with the cans I am using. I also use EQ from time to time so yeah I don't really care about ultimate technicality
