I am having a hard time choosing between
STAX L300 ear speakers with SRM 252s drivers
OR
Sennheiser HD650 with modi 2uber multibit and valhalla 2

What i want = Good clarity, Nice sound stage &Imaging, not too analytical sound and  laid back sound

Thanks

Hello leviator
I have experiance with a lower end Stax and a Sennheiser HD 580, Should sound almost the same as a hd600. And I would say that atleast my Stax have more clairity but less bass then my hd580 but I have read that newer Stax headphones dont have the problem of having light bass anymore.
Of it was my choice I would choose the Stax headphone
I hope I helped a bit

You might want to have a look at the Koss ESP 950's it is a really good Stat headphone system. I prefer it to my 6xx's ( same as 650's) . It usually sells for about $600 New on Amazon and the great thing about it it has lifetime warranty.

any idea which might drive it good ?
i would prefer a portable amp rather than a desktop one.

Interesting i have heard Koss have Electrostatic headphones but never looked up to any model until now. They are pretty old and do u have any idea how do they compare with STAX SRS-3100?

I was mainly influenced by the z review on the STAX SRS-3100 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFcHo4wAtpU check it out if you have time.

The Problem is i cannot audition any headphones in my place so i have to rely heavily on how it sounds from other ears.
Also i forgot to mention i will be using it to watch movies and for VR. I am not sure if they all tick the check box.

The HD 650 is one of my favorite dynamic driver headphones. However, I easily prefer electrostats. I previously had a STAX SR-207 and SR-30 and currently have a Koss ESP950, but I have not heard the SR-L300.

Unfortunately, your description of what you're looking for is a little too vague to tell which you would prefer. All of them could fit that description depending on how you look at it.

I have the 1More Triple Drivers as well as the ESP-950's . The 1More's are great no doubt for the money. The 950's are just a few steps ahead in just about everything. Estats don't excel in bass slam but reproduce bass very well. Daft Punks " Da Funk" slams pretty good but not like a dynamic headphone. They make up for it in clarity and separation. They excel in acoustic music but are good for everything else as now listening to old Black Sabbath and they rock it.
