I've finally decided to buy a pair of SR-007's.
They retail for $3800aud here.
I've tried to buy from the forum's for sale section, but so far people don't seem keen on selling items they are advertising for sale or replying to messages.
I can buy brand new on Ebay from Japan for ~ $2300 aud. Add 10% import duty ~ $2500ish. Thats more than 1/3 cheaper than locally bought.
I know they will be "grey imports" - but are they still the real deal? ie: genuine STAX headphones and not cheap knock-offs?
It's not a lot more than people want on here, for used headphones, with no warranty.
As long as they are genuine I'm happy to forego a 12 month warranty for Ebay DoA protection if it's saving me ~ $1300.
Have others bought high end STAX gear from Japan via Ebay?
