I've noticed a few posts where people have issues with knowing easily Left and Right sides for their IEMs. I was wanting to share some ideas and receive some as well.
First off, the number one way I know Left from Right on a pair of IEMs is as I'm unwrapping from around my Nano I look at the plastic Y and remember whether or not the symbol faces in or out. For instance when I had E4's the plastic on the Y had to be facing me to be correct. More recently for example, I know that my Superfi 5's the symbol has to be facing out to be correct. Knowing this makes untangling minor twists in the cable, along with already knowing which side belongs to each ear much easier.
I have in the past tried painting a circle around the Left ear piece since I'm left handed for easier management, but now I find just looking to the Y faster.
Does anyone else have any short cuts to preventing having to use a magnifying glass to see the tiny L or R symbols? This could easily apply to headphones as well but the majority of the time its much clearer and simpler to know left from right on headphones.
