When I first got foobar to output using ASIO to the e-mu 0404 working I could control the volume in the ASIO strip and in the main mix. In messing around with patchmix, I deleted all the strips. I made a new ASIO strip and chose direct input. It seems to sound better now than it did, but I’d like to know how I can get the ASIO strip to show the levels and allow control of the volume from it back. Is the way I currently have things setup the best in terms of getting the best possible sound quality?

Here’s a rundown of how I have things setup.

Foobar-
24bit padded to 32
No resampler
Output using ASIO dll version

Patchmix-
One strip for ASIO Out ½
All effect inserts deleted
Main mix and monitor are controlling volume level

Right click on the strip and click on Insert Peak Meter.

If you want to control the gain, you can right click on the strip, and click on Insert Trim Control

Through addvice on the forum I was resampling to 96000 and setting up a 96Khz ASIO session in Patchmix sounded pretty good.
