Will be difficult to know until a week or 2 of run in. Usually, a week reveals what's up, even if it continues to improve more subtly thereafter. Often a very noticeable change in the 1st few days on revealing kit,
Hence my questions were addressed to Paul. He gotta know right? Is the DX240 officially discontinued?

I just got one. I opened it, which is easy. You lift the same end that you take the screws out of, just a little and then slide the back towards the same end you just took the screws out of and the back comes right off. The antenna connection is under the battery, so you disconnect the battery and it comes off the double sided take fairly easy, which is nice and then disconnect the antenna and there you are.

Volume control module and the ribbon cable. The black section on the receiver for the cable lifts and you can slide the cable out and then reseat it and push the black lever back down.

You can see where the antenna attaches in the upper left corner of the image.

Dx240 was just as easy. I don't think that I needed to unstick the battery and it stayed with the back once disconnected. I believe it was 2 screws in the amp area, slide and split, antenna and battery connection.

I had a Questyle for a while and I had no idea how to get into that thing. Well... I'm sure you needed to remove the glued glass screen.:grimacing:

DAP seems to be burning in quite nicely. Sound signature is opening up and starting to sound much more balanced to my ear with that same analogue feel. Treble feels much more resolving compared to out of the box and mid bass has tightened up a lot.

However there is quite an annoying “bug?”

@Paul - iBasso when I pause my music for 3 minutes and resume it (I have tested with the screen on and off, using hardware buttons to pause and resume) I get a VERY loud pop at the beginning of when the playback is resumed. Like… scary loud to where it hurts my ears. This is happening on android OS with Spotify.

Sorry but I had to ask. All that high-end gear and you use Spotify ?

I have tried it with Amazon Hi-Rez music and I’m not getting any pop when I pause it for sometime and then hit play again maybe it’s the app that’s doing it somehow but Amazon on Bluetooth isn’t doing it.

It happens for me using 4.4mm PO, I haven’t tried 3.5mm. It has to be a long pause also, about 3 minutes seems to be the trigger mark. I will try Apple Music later and see if it’s a Spotify thing.

Just tested Apple Music, the same pop persists. It is very very loud.
I did a long pause. I finally did get a pop, so I emailed ibasso to let them know and I would imagine it’s going to be a simple fix. to be honest going back to the SD card that I have. I just prefer them sound from from Bluetooth more transparent Just air quality sound, but Bluetooth isn’t bad

Yep I’ve had other daps do this before also so it’s not really unfamiliar territory for me. I imagine a firmware update will sort it.

Really enjoying how the dap is maturing so far. I like observing changes from out of the box and with organic use rather than forced burn in. It takes much longer but I enjoy hearing the ups and downs.

Lovely device, excellent size and weight, good finish, the system seems to run smoothly and the screen is clear and bright.

I confirm that there is no option to unlock the screen with double tap.

I can't add much about the sound except that I find it far superior to Fiio Q15, it seems well balanced and the mids are not too forward like with DX320.

Yeah, when it is too cold, even IPhones wouldn’t boot up. Let it sit at room temperature for a couple hours, and then using a low power charger to plug it in after that ?

My Dx220 is still going strong with battery that lasts 4+ hours. It is about the same as any other Apple products that I have had such as IPhone 6-7 with old battery.

Also, Walkman WM1A/Z MK2 have seen problem of weak relays and intermittent sound when it isn’t operating correctly . I have helped a few to bypass and upgraded it as well
Wish I'd seen this post earlier.

If yo-u have electronics (especially cameras) that have been outside where it is very cold, say 32F, and you just bring it in to warm it up, that is very dangerous. Because the cold metal (or glass) will cause condensation of water vapor onto electronic and glass surfaces where you can't get at it or fix it.

What you have to do is put it in a sealed baggie when it is outside (where the humidity is low) and only then bring it into warm temperatures inside. Wait half an hour for the item to warm up, and only then take it out of the baggie. No condensation.

I have sent you an email. I work odd hours due to the need to cover many time zones so I am not always awake when others might be but that varies.

The DX260 is tuned to be detailed, musical and transparent but it takes time to burn-in. If a person doesn't believe in burn-in, that is fine but it takes a while for the components and circuit to settle. I have there is a bassy period with the DX260, warmer period etc. And then there are the filters. Filter 4 and 5 (NOS) I enjoy. And the the FIR setting of normal X2 and X4.
What is the intention for the sound to be as compared to the DX320?
