Headphone.com Talks about the new version sounding overall better, better mid/highs. Is it worth an extra $70? They look a good deal better but is that all there is to it?

A lot of people also recommand the 80ohm version compared to the 250, I'll be using an amp. What do you guys think?

In my opinion, and I have owned and used all 3:

DT770/80 > 2005 DT770 250 > old DT770 250

I've heard 80 ohmers, but I haven't heard the 05 DT770's. I actually prefer the bigger low end of the 250s. They're harder to drive than the 80's (duh), and alot of people get thier impressions from them not being driven to thier potential, but they IMO, sound better when hooked up to a dece tube amp. The sound is rediculous.

So seeing as I haven't heard the 05 DT770s, I would put those last, considering the main reason you get the DT770's is for the bottom end. Taking some of that away, just kinda kills the reason you bought them, and would spring for something else....atleast I would think.
